One of my favourite activities before Christmas (or any given event where presents are required, actually) is wrapping the presents. I always try to recycle as many of my materials as possible, using newspaper, magazines, kraft paper, old twine, ribbon, thread or even wool, and adding some nice accents like paper snow flakes, gold paint, masking tape, stickers or flowers of all sorts. I also try to think of a new 'theme' each year and some unique ideas to make them look extra special - because unwrapping a gift is already part of the joy!
This gift topper from mini eco is pretty, I love the rainbow colors!
Kraft paper, black pen and colourful stickers = adorable presents! And I like how it's called on the blog Maja: Joulupaketteja :)
Beautiful colors, and not only for Christmas: Watercolor Gift Wrap on Minted's Blog Julep.
Little boxes made from old book pages, found on Die Raumfee.
Printing your own wrapping paper is also a great way to personalize gifts and invent your own themes. I like this stamp on german blog Ein Stück vom Glück.You are my fave has some lovely ideas for stamped gift wrap on paper and fabric.
If you are pressed for time or don't feel like designing your own: just print the pretty cross stitch gift wrapping paper designed by Kate over on Mini Eco.
Or how about wrapping your presents in some nice fabric this year, furoshiki style? It can not only be used for presents, but also to make clothes, bags or baskets!
Another great way to personalize your gifts: gift tags! Lots and lots of free christmas printables on funkytime - so many choices! Calligraphy gift tags and monogram tags from How About Orange, sweet handpainted tags from Oana Befort.
For the ultimate fun surprise, gather some little presents and wrap them in a lot of crepe paper to make surprise balls! I had never heard of these before, when I came across the post on Honestly... wtf, bit I love the idea and want to try them soon!
Boxes are also great for wrapping, especially when you can make your own! For example with this custom box template generator, found on How About Orange.
