With my group of girl friends, we have a Christmas present arrangement, to reduce stress: everyone gets the same, but different! Let me explain this contradictory sounding, but totally sound ;-) concept:
We get or make the same little present for everyone, but the colours or combinations or flavor can vary. For example, last year we received handknitted socks from A., but everyone got a special colour, T. gave us jam she made herself in several yummy flavors (Plum-lavender!) and I ordered a baggu for everyone: elephants for T., stripes for M., lamas for B. ... I had so much fun, choosing the bags, then wrapping and giving them - they all loved the one I chose!
This year I wanted to make something handmade and I had been seeing those spray painted plastic animals on jars all over the web - so I went to the flea market and searched for some plastic toy animals, haggled my heart out and brought them home...
... gave them a good bath...
... dried them...
... gave them a new home on some old jars I had collected...
... and spray painted them with gold spray!
Then I sewed some little zip bags to put inside the glasses. The cutest, most environmentally friendly packaging! We had a great Christmas party, and the animal glasses and zip bags were a huge hit :-)
